DERRY -- Nick Horner-Wright, 23, died March 18, 2008.
He was born in Derry on Feb. 6, 1985, a son of Paul Wright and Leslie Horner-Wright.
He was raised in Derry, and graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 2003, where he participated in Allied Health. He was a senior at the University of Maine majoring in biology.
He was recently employed as a manager in training at USA Subs in Salem and had worked part-time at his family's business, the Derry Counseling Service.
He was a member of First Parish Church in E. Derry.
He enjoyed BMX biking, snowboarding, skateboarding, playing the guitar and helping others.
He was well loved by many people and had a knack for making people laugh. He had a charisma about him, and you knew he was in the room with you. He was very compassionate, and he touched people with his warmth and kindness.
IN HIS LIFE: In addition to his parents of Derry, he is survived by his sister, Gretchen Horner-Wright of Boston; a stepbrother, Peter Wright of Lawrence, Kan.; his paternal grandmother, Betty Withington of Laconia; his maternal grandparents, George Horner and Nancy Merrill of Boxford, Mass.; two uncles, Mark Wright and his wife, Linda, of Gilford, and Richard Horner and his wife, Susan, of Chandler, Ariz.; as well as three cousins, Jason, Andy, and John Wright.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Mary L. Horner, his paternal grandfather, Al Wright, and his step-grandfather, Robert Withington.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry, followed by cremation.
