Peter Smith Obituary

May 3rd 2025, Peter Edward Smith (74) of Raymond, NH passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manchester, NH on February 8th 1951 to Florence (Young) Smith Johnson of Amherst and Robert Smith of Nashua. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Pete is survived by his wife Denise of almost 45 years. Children include son Bogart Smith of Manchester; son, Walker Smith and his wife Krysta of Concord; daughter, Micajah Place and her husband Justin of Northwood. Beloved grandchildren include Benjamin, Emma-Lee, Isabella, Olive and Clementine, Sister in-law Mary Smith of Manchester. Predeceased by his parents, sister Sharyn Androski and brother Thomas Smith.

Raised in Nashua, NH, and a graduate of Bishop Guertin. He studied at the University of NH in Durham. Pete worked in the restaurant business for several years, eventually owning Smith Brothers Pub in Dover with his brother Tom. After working in the restaurant business, Pete decided he needed a change and went into landscape design for 20 plus years, stating "this is my therapy".

Pete's life was devoted to his family. When not working he enjoyed going on adventures with all of his family (dog sledding, falconry, making pottery, trip on a schooner, trips up Mt Washington, ski trips, trips to the beach and last but not least, the annual summer vacation in VT. His hobbies include skiing, kayaking, traveling, gardening, singing, dancing, reading, cooking, going to the theater, and watching his beloved Patriots. Holidays were his favorite, where he enjoyed putting his own special twist on them, such as the swashbuckling Easter Pirate. One of his favorite things was to plan his holiday menu months in advance. Pete will be deeply missed, but not forgotten by all who knew him."

I just heard of Pete´s passing. We were friends back in high school, co-workers and my friend. We kept in touch over the years via the web. It was always a pleasure to hear from him and how his family was growing. I will always remember him as the truest of friends and all around great guy. Rest peacefully.
