Alexander V. "Al" Forte, P.E. 1949 - 2016
UTICA - Mr. Alexander V. "Al" Forte, Professional Engineer, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 peacefully in his sleep.
Al was born in Utica, and though he traveled the world and recently became a snowbird in Florida, his heart belonged here. It gives his family great solace that he passed in the comfort of his beloved home with his best dog friend, Chili, by his side.
Al was a proud engineering graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, having previously graduated from Proctor High School and attended MVCC. He loved every minute of being a professional engineer, working for the state, and also in private practice with his partner Paul Mancuso for more than 30 years.
Some of Al's favorite activities included golfing, spending time with friends at Pellettieri Joe's, spoiling his children and grandchildren, and traveling the world to exotic places.
Al is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice Forte, and his two daughters, who will all miss him dearly - Alicia D'Ambrosio and her husband, Francis D'Ambrosio and son Alex; and Brooke Manrique and her husband, Jorge Manrique, and daughter Lucia and son Adrian. He was affectionately known as the "world's best papa" and will forever be cherished by them. Al also leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law, John A. and Suzanne Forte, and Anthony M. and Cynthia Forte and their families. Al had such a large circle of friends and family that there are too many names to list, but each one had a special place in his heart.
The family is grateful to Santo and Fran for their loving assistance at a time of need.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Al's funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to The Italian Feast Fund at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel, as it was very near to Al's heart; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
