Michael J. Mariotti, 68, of West Winfield, passed away unexpectedly in the hands of the Lord on September 10, 2012, with his family by his side. Mike was born January 18, 1944, in Plainfield, NY. He was a son of Edward and Mary (Consilio) Mariotti. He received his education at West Winfield Central School and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in West Winfield. He worked his entire life on the family farm. Mike was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed attending the car races at the Brookfield Fair and Utica-Rome Speedway. He loved the outdoors and appreciated all that nature had to offer. Survivors include two brothers, Maurice and his wife, Evelyn, of Unadilla Forks, and John and his wife, Penny, of SC; three sisters, Madaline Timian, of Sauquoit, Theresa Mariotti, of West Winfield, and Stella Martin, of Ilion; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Edward and Daniel. His family would like to thank Deacon Paul Lehmann for his many visits and words of comfort. Special thanks are also offered to dear friend "Doctor Doug" Capraro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in West Winfield. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In accordance with Mike's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Friends and family are welcome to attend mass, and are asked to consider a donation in Mikes memory to the church. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams &Edmunds Funeral Home, West Winfield.
