Dwayne Elvin Grayson

1954 - 2021

Port Isabel, Texas - Dwayne Elvin Grayson, age 66, of Port Isabel, Texas passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.

Elvin was born July 7, 1954 in San Benito, Texas to William Estel and Frankie Elaine Grayson. As a child, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family in the waters of the lower Laguna Madre, with fishing becoming a lifelong hobby. He attended schools in Combes and Harlingen, graduating from Texas A&I University in Kingsville with a degree in business. He worked in retail in Corpus Christi before moving to Port Isabel/Laguna Vista to join the family marine business. He had a love for our Lord Jesus Christ and was an elder at Cross Church in Laguna Vista. Spending time with his family was most important in his life and was devoted to caring for his mother. He was very active in Boy Scouts of America and was a leader in his son's scout troop.

Elvin is survived by his children, Melissa Sue Moncrief; Kyle William (Sydney) Grayson and his granddaughter Addison Mae Grayson; the mother of his children, Barbara Sue Grayson; his mother, Frankie Elaine Grayson; his brother, Eric (Debbie) Grayson and other family members of the Combes/Harlingen area.

He was preceded in death by his children, Amy Lynn and Leann Marie Grayson and his father, William Estel Grayson.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Harlingen-Combes Memorial Cemetery, 20969 Sid Jones Road, Combes, Texas and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Stone, a close friend of Elvin.

The family of Elvin Grayson would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Valley Baptist Medical Center for their devoted and kind care during his illness.
