Arlene Scheininger Obituary

Arlene Scheininger of Venice,

Florida, widow of Dr. Laurence Scheininger, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 10, 2021. She was 86 years old.

Daughter of Leo and Esther Siegal of Maplewood, N.J., Arlene was born on December 28, 1934. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1952 and later in 1956 from Kean College with a teaching degree for K-6th.

Arlene met her future husband Larry and they were married in 1957 and shared a beautiful life over the next 47 years, raising their three children in Rumson, N. J., and traveling to many exoctic places together. Dr. Scheininger retired in 2000 in Rumson, N.J., where they resided for 22 years before moving to Venice, Fla. Dr. Scheininger passed away in 2004.

Arlene taught Kindergarten and enjoyed many hobbies in her free time: stringing pearls,

creating beautiful quilts, knitting, and needlepoint just to name a few. She was an active member of B' nai Jeshurun in New Jersey and the JCV in Venice, where she was an active choir member and met her current husband Joel Reznick.

She is survived by her children: Michele( Alfred) Stancati, Franklyn (Judy) Scheininger, and Loren (Stacey) Scheininger; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Tyler, Alexandra, Jared, Justin, Elijah, and Luke; her first great-grandchild Lana; and her current husband, Joel Reznick, of Venice, Fla., who attended to her care for which her children are grateful.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to

National Kidney Foundation Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, or American Heart Association, 2975 Bee Ridge Road, Ste. B, Sarasota, FL 34239.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 1 p.m. for fellowship and visitation, followed by the service at 2 p.m. at Kays-Pronger & Uselton Funreral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Fla.

Some people come into your life and change your life forever. When Arlene and Larry adopted Loren, they saved the man who made me a mom and my life was changed in so many beautiful ways that I never could have even imagined and I will be forever grateful . Thank you....
