Laura Anders Obituary
Laura was born in Springfield, Ohio, on September 12, 1951, and spent her childhood in the Midwest and East Coast.
A 1973 graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota, Laura was a reporter at the Faribault Daily News and a communications executive at Northern States Power, Padilla Speer Beardsley, Inc., Dayton Hudson Corp., Fleishman-Hillard, Inc., and Anders Corporate Communications. She relocated to Florida after retirement in 2016.
Laura is remembered as an amusing, loving relative and friend, a generous volunteer, and a highly capable person. She is survived by her brother, Michael Anders (Nance) of Alexandria, Minnesota; nephews Jake (Erin) Anders and great-nephews Mikko and Finn of Palmer, Alaska; Thomason (Elizabeth) Anders and great-nephews Martin and Henrik of Copenhagen, Denmark; niece Mattie Anders of Minneapolis, and long-time feline companions (masters) Yin and Yang.

Memorials are preferred to Big Brothers Big Sisters, All Faiths Food Bank (Venice), WGCU.org, WEDU, Cat Depot (Sarasota), St. Francis Shelter (Venice), and the Salvation Army.

Laura and I met in graduate school at the University of Minnesota, where we were studying Mass Communications. We almost immediately became pals.
Laura had a great sense of humor and was
a highly intelligent and capable professional. She was a kind and caring person and I am glad were shared
a friendship. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
May she rest in peace.
