Was it fate that I saw Jon’s obituary this morning? I was delivered the Ventura Star by mistake with my regular LA Times today and came across the obituary.
I first met Jon and Chris at Wilton Place School as a young child and reconnected at LA High as teammates on the swim team. Our paths crossed again at UCLA as a freshman and Jon the optimist encouraged me in a doomed attempt to try out for the frosh swim team.
When I think of my youth I will always remember wonderful people like Jon who were an important part of it.
Rest In Peace Jon, you deserve it.
