Joshua Charles Sherry
Our dear Joshua Charles Sherry was lost to us in a car accident in Missoula, Montana at the age of 23 in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013. Josh grew up in Ojai, California before moving to Missoula, where he lived for the last three years.
Josh loved snowboarding, skateboarding, mountain biking, hiking and being in the great outdoors. He loved the California and Montana mountains. He was a talented artist and drummer and loved almost all music. He would dance his heart out. He also was a star athlete and we loved to watch him play all sports. He played baseball, basketball and soccer throughout his childhood years, and we especially loved watching him throw the javelin and shotput.
Mostly he loved keeping his friends and family close to his heart and spending time with them. His heart was huge. He will be missed by friends from Nordhoff High School, Ventura High School, Ventura College, Santa Barbara City College, and the University of Montana where he intended to continue his education. He will be greatly missed as well by his co-worker family at the Holiday Inn Missoula Downtown where he worked as a cook, following in his father's culinary footsteps.
He is survived by his family in Ojai, parents Kevin and Deana Sherry and big sister Heather. He is also survived by grandparents Helen Sherry (Grover Beach, CA), Charlie and Lolly Oliver (Menifee, CA), Barbara Sweeton (Ship Bottom, New Jersey) and Richard Rhoads (Trenton, New Jersey) and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
We can't imagine this world without him and his megawatt smile. All who were fortunate to walk alongside him on this earth were drawn in by his generous heart and sense of humor. We only wish we could have had more time. He was truly loved, and touched so many lives.
Our family gatherings will never be the same without him, but we will try to keep his joy in our hearts always. Be good to one another, make art and music, and live your life to the fullest in memory of our Best Buddy.
A memorial service and fellowship gathering with food and music will take place at 2p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at The Center for Spiritual Living, 101 S. Laurel Street in Ventura, CA. A service was also held Oct. 6th in Missoula, Montana.

Wow!! I'm in shock and 11 years late. We use to ride together back in like 06-08 at Bear Valley. My cousin and I who were reminiscing about the old days at Bear just recently, talking about how we use to ride with some cool older guy (you). Due to this I searched your name on the internet to see say what's up and found out about this terrible, terrible news. I can't believe it and would never believed this could ever happen to you. It's crazy, because I've still thought about you all these years every time I ride at Bear and laugh how we were little punks throwing snowballs at people and riding the park together. Man, I'm so sorry for you and your family.

It seems like yesterday you were singing "Go go, Power Rangers!!" Josh, you were such an enthusiastic and energetic child. What fun you had each and every day, and how many interests you had! Although I hadn't seen you in over a decade, it seems like just a few days ago that you were flashing that beautiful and fun loving smile. Even now, I still feel your energy and warmth. Your life here was far too short. You are missed. You are not forgotten!

Josherry. You are without a doubt one of the best souls I've ever met, and I couldn't be more blessed to have spent the time I did with you and got to share three years of amazing experiences with you. I love you. I know everyone says this, but you really did help me through some of the roughest times of my life and I can't thank you enough for loving me and lifting me up like you did. You will never be forgotten. I can't wait to see you again mr. Keep watch over us in the meantime. Love you -tballz

You will always be a part of me although I will never be the same. I am so thankful for all of our memories. I promise you I will explore the beauty of our world everyday as it was by far one of our favorite things to do. The adventure of not knowing is what kept us searching. I love you always and forever Josh Sherry.

I remember the little guy a little shy and a little excited to meet his cousins. And those skinny jeans before anyone on the East Coast knew about them. So sorry for your loss and amazed at your reslience in keeping going. Love.
