Marie and family,
My sister, Jan, just let me know of Dick's passing. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Both of you were so special to our Dad, Mel Gallon. I remember meeting you all for the first time in Cherry Point on the base. Dad thought so highly of Dick and their friendship was a long one. May God Bless your family. Susan Gallon Hoof

Sad to hear about Dick. We became acquainted within the fist few years after Pat & I moved to town. Played a lot of golf together at Saticoy. Best to you, Richard, Cliff, Tom and the rest of the family

To the Atmore Family,
My condolences on the passing of Coach Atmore, (a.k.a. Richard). I met him when I was a very young and impressionable 18 year old and he came to coach at Ventura College. I didn't learn much about football from him but I learned how to treat people with respect and dignity, which helped develop me into being an adult. When I would meet him, it was always good to get a hug and handshake from the coach and catch up on old times. I will always remember him as a gentleman and a great inspiration.
