Alice F. Speer

Alice F. Speer Alice F. Speer, a longtime Pixley resident and homemaker passed away July 15, 2013 at the age of 89. Alice was born October 30, 1923 in Fallon, Montana. During WWII, one of Alice's brothers who was in the military, came home on leave and brought a friend with him. His name was Clarence Speer. Alice and Clarence soon fell in love and in February of 1946 she moved to California to marry Clarence and start a family. Alice enjoyed being a homemaker was a loving and devoted mother to their three children. She was very involved and supportive in their many activities while growing up. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Louise Stickel; her husband Clarence, and three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her children Louise McGrew and husband Duncan of Pixley, Clarice Hoff and husband Tim of Laramie, WY and Dennis Speer and wife Ramona of Fresno; a sister Edna Irion of Terry, MT; five grandchildren John Speer, Elizabeth Speer, Miranda Sorenson, Caitlin Hoff and Travis Hoff; one great granddaughter Evelyn Jo Sorenson and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Tulare Evangelical Free Church. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army or Tulare Evangelical Free Church, 2100 E. Cross Ave., Tulare, CA 93274. Arrangements are by Peers Lorentzen Funeral Service.
