Joe Schott Obituary

Joe Schott

Tipton - Joe Schott, 88, passed away on Tuesday Aug 7, 2018. Joe was born and raised in Tipton, CA. In his youth he worked on the family farm and learned the trucking business. He proudly served his country in the Korean War and was discharged with honors in 1951. When he returned home, he met the woman who made his heart jump every moment he spent with her — his wife, Priscilla, whom he loved and cherished for 64 years. They made their home on the ranch and raised their six children. His passion was farming which grew to become his legacy. He took particular pride in providing employment that sustained many families over the years. He instilled the value of hard work in his children and was recognized for his thriving farming and trucking business as Tulare Kiwanis Farmer of the Year in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla, his daughters Susan (Michael) Stowell, Sally (Gary) Zarounian, Janice (Jim) Goertzen, Pam (Greg) Pellegrini, and his son, Frank Schott, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Joey. He enjoyed bowling, collecting beautiful antiques, visiting his home in Shell Beach, classic cars- especially his prized Model T, and growing beautiful gladiolus that he would pick for Priscilla. Joe was a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church, Elks Lodge, American Legion, and Tipton Kiwanis.

Visitation will be at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday Aug. 13th.

Rosary and Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday Aug 14th at St. John's Catholic Church of Tipton, CA. with burial at Tulare District Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Catholic Church and/or Tulare AMVETS Post 56. Arrangements entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.

My dad loved driving with Joe around the ranch.
I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Joe, just heard of what a good man he was. May God give you peace and comfort in your time of need.
