Lynn Couch Obituary
Lynn Edward Couch
Aug 13, 1949 - Aug 26, 2015
Modesto
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lynn E. Couch. Lynn, age 66, went to be with his Lord on August 26, 2015, in Modesto, California. Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Jennie Couch of Orosi, California and his twin brother, Bud (Glenn) Couch of Visalia, California. Lynn is survived by his sister Gail Tjon of Garrett, Indiana; daughter Stacee Ward (Darwyn Ward) of Visalia; grandchildren Sheena, Kasey and Sonny; and great-grandson Jonah.
Lynn was born in Reedley, CA and graduated from Orosi H.S. in 1967. He went on to graduate with a B.A. from Fresno State in 1973. Lynn spent most of his professional life working for Kawneer in Visalia as a draftsman and later worked for Butler Manufacturing. In the late ninety's Lynn moved to Modesto to work for Vista Wall. His last working years were spent with his own company, Lynn Couch Drafting. While living in Modesto he attended Davis Park Church of Christ in Modesto California and during his retirement years he assisted the church with their apartment building as a board member. He also volunteered with the church and assisted them in the Hurricane Katrina disaster and in a Texas Hurricane disaster.
Anyone who knew Lynn knew how much he loved his daughter Stacee, his family, his beagle Amber who passed away in May 2015, and nature. His new love was his Beagle puppy Sheba who is now living with his daughter and family. Spending time with his family at Pine Flat Lake was something he cherished and looked forward to throughout the year. You would never see him on the houseboat without Amber or being goofy with his grandkids! If he wasn't at the lake you could find him at Lake Tahoe, hiking with Amber and soaking in the fresh smell of pine trees and enjoying the serenity it brought him. In his younger years you could often find Lynn and his twin brother Bud up in Sonora, dredging for gold or metal detecting together around the County, trying to find buried treasures! His life was filled with many adventures here on earth - some good, some challenging. He was taken much too soon and unexpectedly, but we know he's now having the best adventures ever in Heaven.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Lynn on September 3, 2015 at Dopkins Funeral Chapel in Dinuba CA at 10:00 A.M. followed by a graveside service at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
