Shirley Carter Obituary

Shirley Mamie Carter, born on June 2, 1935 in Holtville, died January 3, 2011. She is survived by her sons: Billy Hipp, wife Marie Hipp, Hanford, Sid Carter Jr, wife Irma Carter, Tulare, Bobby Hipp, Visalia, Terry Hipp, Visalia, Roy Hipp, Coalinga, Kenneth Hipp, Visalia, Mark Corringtonn Texas, and Matt Corrington, wife Molly, Texas. Also surviving are her siblings: Audrey Stailey, husband Jim, Woodlake, Gloria Waldon, husband Jerry, Exeter, Leroy Hipp, wife Leila, Farmersville, Richard Hipp, wife Ruth, Farmersville, Kenny Hipp, Farmersville, Dorothy Boswell, husband Dean, Tennessee, and Alene Stephens, husband Darrell, Tulare. Her parents, Levi and Cora Lee Hipp of Farmersville, preceded her in death. Shirley was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother and lived in Tulare most of her life. We will miss her excitement of playing Bingo. Aside from that, she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with the grandkids and spoiling them. She has 16 grandkids and four great grandkids. Services will be held at Farmersville First Assembly of God, 867 East Ash, Farmersville, CA on Saturday January 8, 2011 at 11 am.

I still remember Mama (Thelma Neal) and Aunt Shirley dressed in the same brown and black checkered pantsuits that the had received for Christmas, both their hair was up in bobbie pins. They had the best time laughing at theirselve saying they looked like a couple of monkeys. We have to look at the good times in life so we can make it through the crying times. I love and miss you Mama and Aunt Shirley.

Shirly will be dearly missed.She's been a friend for life.The one thing that stands out about Shirly was her laughter. When she laugh the whole room was laughing.A friend was always wecomed at Mrs Carters house as my Dad would call her.We'll carrie her in our Hearts for ever. The Mayes Family
