Lucian Lemery Obituary
Windsor, VT - Lucian "Luke" L. Lemery, Jr., 70, died on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH. He was born March 1, 1952, in Montpelier, VT to Lucian, Sr. and Eleanor J. (Lizzari) Lemery. After dating and merging lives and households, Luke received a marriage proposal from Nancy A. Morrow and on December 31, 2004, they were married at their home in Windsor. The two enjoyed hunting deer together in the woods near Brownsville; their expeditions generated fun and happy times (and many memorable stories!). The two loved to travel together: seeking out warmer destinations traveling in their camper during the winter, taking an Alaskan cruise, and traveling to Elk conventions and competitions across the region and US. For many years, Luke was a dedicated Windsor Elks Lodge 1665 member, serving in nearly every chair and as part of the Ritual Competition team. He took his time serving as Exalted Ruler very seriously, ensuring that the Lodge was attended to and run well. Always quick with a joke or funny story, his friends and family will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Lemery of Windsor; two children Danielle M. Lemery-Kenney and significant other Chad Traverse of Canaan, NH and Lucian "Luke" L. Lemery, III of St. Johnsbury, VT; two step-children Erin Marie Morrow and husband Mike Stone of Maryland and Erik Morrow of Bradford, VT; two sisters Linda R. Whitcomb and husband Roger and Robin A. Scully, all of Windsor; a brother-in-law John Bleh and wife Martha of Waitsfield, VT; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 11 am until 2 pm at the Windsor Elks Lodge and memorial donations to the Silver Towers Camp are appreciated. A private burial will be held later this year in Ascutney Cemetery.
