I feel as if I have lost my own child. You allowed me to supervise your child for several summers on the Sherman Manor girls softball team, she was cooperative,respectful,athletic and a wonderful team player. Several years later I get my class roll at JHHines and discover I have Alice's daughter, Star, in my classroom and Roxanne across the hall. In Star and Roxanne I saw so many of Alice's qualities: that beautiful smile, those big expressive eyes,that curiosity for learning/knowledge.
I saw Alice on her job, neat, well groomed,effective, efficient,pleasant,a wonderful role model for the young adults working with and around her.
I admire the woman that little girl from Sherman Manor became.
You have been blessed beyond measure.
God equipts all of us with the ability to handle loss, change, grief but he allows us the choice of how we manage them.
Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them who love the Lord to them who are the called according to his purpose."

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To: Tony,Mrs Doris, George, Shelia and Tonya.We dont know what to expect living day to day but God has his way to make us stronger when the time comes sometimes things seem too overwhelming at times but there will be a brighter day tomorrow. I've lost a sista too we have grown together from knee high 4 or 5 yrs old getting in trouble and getting out of trouble together looking out for one another. I knew my homegirl was tired but not like that, now I have to think about the kids and wishing the best for them.To Roxanne, Star, Micheal Jr, Antonio and Ashya even though your mom is gone to a better place she is still here on earth with us, so do the right things and live as she taught you. Make your mom proud of you. I will always be proud of you girls and guys. Be strong and carry on cause the legacy lives on with in US. Sorry I cant be there but I wish you all peace.Carry on my homie carry on.

My heart and condolences goes out to the Thompson Family in this time of grief. I knew Alice growing up in Waco and she always had a smile on her face. The memories will never go away. Tanya hang in there and GOD will work things out. Alice rest in peace.

My heart go's out to the Thompson family's..I can remember Alice and I getting in trouble together at Lake Waco Elementary and at Wiley middle school. I can remember walking home from Wiley and she would help me, by carrying my books sometimes all the way to Trendwoods apt.and if she would go ahead of me she would leave my books at my door , she always was kind to me,she always had a smile on her face, she was my angel down on earth.. now she's God's ANGEL so now we must look to the sky for my friend Alice Thompson.. I can not believe that you are gone, it seems to unreal. I was just talking about you the other day to a co-worker about how sweet and loving of a person you were. Things will not be the same without you here, but I know that you are in the arms of the Lord and that everything is o.k.
