Rene Prikryl Obituary
July 2, 1958 - Nov. 16, 2021
Rene Coker Prikryl, 63, of Waco, TX, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor David Cozart officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, November 22, at the funeral home.
Rene was born July 2, 1958, in Waco, TX. She worked at Baylor University for 23 years and truly loved her job. She married Gary Prikryl on July 26, 2014. Rene enjoyed spending time with her family, from going out on their boat, at the house cooking out, or trips to the beach. Being with family made her the happiest.
Rene was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Barbara Harrison.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Prikryl; sons, Chad Coker and wife, Marcie, Mark Coker, and Ryan Coker and wife, Cathleen; grandchildren, Caden Coker, Rawling Coker, Rhett Coker, Jillie Duncan and Jacie Grace Duncan; sister, Michelle Henson; brother, David Roach; sister-in-law, Martha Schlegel; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

So so sorry for your loss! We will always remember Rene from the Robinson HS football games and Robinson Little League. We remember her and our Dustin eating (spitting) sunflower seeds while watching the boys play at the little league field. She will be very much missed!

Chad, Mark, Ryan, and Gary: Rene was a very kind and thoughtful lady. She was very caring when my husband died. I will always appreciate her. I am praying God sends comfort to you all! I enjoyed seeing pictures of Rene and Gary with the grandchildren. They will miss her hugs!

Back in the day when life was much simpler, and I was much younger, there was a place where everyone found common ground. The Waco Skating Rink! I mean the old skating rink on Waco Drive. Just about every Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoons, no matter where you came from everyone who entered the skating rink were friends. I met Rene when our circle of friends from the skating rink hooked up and those friendships would last through 2021. While times change it is comforting to me that after many decades Rene would still remain a good friend. I am sorry for the families loss and know that her influence at least in my life will be a great memory of our circle of friends and some really fun times!
