Stacy Porter Obituary

Porter, Stacy Still

Feb 28, 1973 - Jul 23, 2024

Stacy Still Porter passed from this life Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the age of 51. She was a grateful daughter, devoted mother, loving sister, and an adoring wife. After a courageous battle, Stacy was called home while surrounded by her loving family at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. A special service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 10, at First Baptist Church Waco with Dr. Matt Snowden officiating.

Stacy was born in 1973 to Betty J. Still and Willard J. Still in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1982, she moved to Waco where she grew up in a household surrounded by love with her brothers, Todd and Douglas. She followed her passion for music education and graduated from Baylor University. In 2001, she sealed her vows to her best friend Ryan, and together they built her favorite legacy, her family. Stacy delighted in playing with her dogs, cruising the Caribbean, and soaking up the sun at the beach or pool. Stacy sang as beautifully as she spoke, with a trained delicateness that made all listening ears pause to listen. Most of all, she treasured time with her family and friends, who will miss her fun-loving and encouraging spirit that brought so much love, joy, and happiness.

Stacy is survived in death by her husband, Ryan Porter; her children, James Parker Still and wife Kara, Payton Marie Porter, Piersten Douglas Porter, Lauren Sims and husband Derrick; a beautiful grandson, Cole H. Sims; her parents, Willard and Betty Still; her older brothers, Douglas Still and wife Sharon, and Todd Still and wife Carolyn; her niece, Sarah Still Clark; and her nephews, Andrew Still and Samuel Still.

Stacy's family would like to thank the medical teams at Baylor Scott & White Temple, Dallas, and especially Fort Worth, who tended to her with skill and care. Memorials may be given in her honor to the Waco Family Abuse Center.

The family invites you to leave a message or memory on Stacy's "Tribute Wall" at www.WHBfamily.com.

"The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace" Numbers 6:24-25.

Stacy was such a sweet person. Always smiling and very friendly. She gave my grandson a present and got down in the floor and played with him. She will truly be missed. RIP

For Doug...my friend I am so terribly sorry for your loss. When we think they should have more years, the pain is exacerbated. For all of us who have lost someone way too early, the hardest prayer is "Thy will be done." Hold your two ladies tight and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
