Joan Hannan

Joan Hannan Joan (Joanie) Hannan, 90, died at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont, NE on May 20, 2024. Born to Edmund and Frances (Lynch) Miles in Fremont, Nebraska, she graduated from ST. PATRICK'S HIGH SCHOOL in 1952. She attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota for one year, prior to her marriage to her high school sweetheart Edward J. Hannan on December 28, 1953, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Joanie belonged to St. Patrick's Women and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She hosted a bible study in her home for over 15 years and was a long-time member of the Friday morning Al-anon Group. She was an avid reader and enjoyed any time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joanie is survived by daughter Kathleen (Dean) Kampschneider of Fremont; sons Stephen (friend Rose Tran) of Omaha; Mark (Laurie) of Ben Wheeler, Texas; Charles (Debbie) of Waxahachie, Texas; Thomas of Omaha and Matthew (Lori) of Fremont; special friend Kelly (Dan) Dailey of Wahoo; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joanie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward (1997); son John (1999); grandson Nolan (2015); sisters Sr. Frances Miles O.P.; and Kathleen Russ and brother-in-law Lawrence Russ; father and mother in-law Edward and Lorrain Hannan; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Howard Hannan and John and Marian Hannan. Visitation was held Tuesday May 28th from 4-7pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont Funeral and Luncheon was at 10am Wednesday May 29th at St. Patrick's. Private Burial was held.
