Brenda Pang Obituary

Brenda Wai Inn Pang, also known with affection as Popo, Mim, and Aunty Dickie, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025. She was 85 years old and a resident of Virginia for 52 years.

Brenda was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 2, 1939. She was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a Baccalaureate Degree in Education. At the University of Hawaii, she met Fred Pang, and they married in 1962. As the wife of a military officer, she accompanied him to assignments in Oklahoma, Japan, Hawaii, and Virginia. She grew into her roles as wife, mother, and teacher, and fulfilled them with grace, wit, joy, and commitment. In later years, she joined her husband's consulting business as chief financial officer.

In her golden years, she traveled widely with her family and friends and enjoyed watching her granddaughters, Olivia and Tessa, grow and excel in school and in sports. She especially enjoyed listening to them play their violins when they were young.

She is survived in her immediate family by her husband Fred, a daughter Susan and her husband Richard Martel, a son Douglas and his wife Poupee Pang and their two children Olivia and Tessa. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held at the Army Navy Country Club Arlington on Sunday, July 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. Those who wish to attend are requested to email [email protected] with the names of all attendees by July 5. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
