Dr. CAROLE A. RAYBURN (Age 79)
On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Rayburn. Sister of Carl F. Miller, Jr. Carole was a Psychologist, Researcher, including a recipient of the William C. Bier Research Award for Psychology of Religion Division, a Writer and fighter for women's rights. She was past President of the Maryland Psychological Association and also a lover of animals including her four dogs. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, December 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Service at Collins Funeral Home on Monday, December 18 at 11 a.m. Interment Clay, Kentucky at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. Box 637, Washington Grove, MD 20880.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Our family is so heartbroken of the loss of Dr Rayburn she was instrumental in helping our family through some tough times. She was a mighty Soldier for the Lord and we are assured she is at peace in the Loving arms of God the Father. Rest in peace.

My sweet cousin...you are so beautiful inside and out...i will miss our five hour talks yakking away. I am so sorry i didn't call you back as i got so busy with work and am so mad at me for that!!! Carole was a unique person with so much goodness. She was that rare person who holds your hand and stands by you not only in good times, but when things are not going well. Carole's many kindnesses will live on; but I will miss her forever. She is in my heart and prayers.

Carole was a long-time member of the National Organization for Women and served the Montgomery County chapter (MCNOW) as President (2007-2009) and Treasurer for more years than I can remember. Carole was a true feminist at a deep level and fought for women's rights. And she was a Patriot! I remember her little red car with the American flags flying from the windows! I'm sorry I didn't keep up with her when she stopped attending our meetings. So nice to hear she was enjoying the theater recently with such good friends. I am so sorry for the loss her friends and family must be feeling. Carole did good work in her time. She made her mark!

My husband and I are shocked. Three weeks ago, we took Carole to the Arena to see Pajama Game. We will miss her terribly. She was so kind, generous, and a true friend over many many years.
