Hazlett Family,
I was surprised to hear of Christine's passing, she was so vibrant and enthusiastic in her role of president of the NOVA NCMA. Her organization skills and energy kept everyone going forward. I wish I knew a way to ease your hurt, but please know that many of us really cared and respected Christine's professionalism, her abilities, and most of all her warmth and caring. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Stuart and family,
Christine will be greatly missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and the acquisition community at large. She was such a dynamic force in our NOVA NCMA chapter and her enthusiam was infectious. As I read the guest book entires there were many key words that kept repeating: energy, joy of life, spirit, etc. We could all use these positive traits in our lives, and I am sure that Christine continued to demonstrate those traits even to the end of her too-short life.
May God bless you all and please know that we will never forget Christine's impact on our lives

Stuart and family,
We were so very sad to hear that Christine was sick, and then that she had passed. She was indeed a wonderful person and, in short, a true ball of fire! We aren't in town for the service, but want you to know that we are thinking of you.

I want to thank each of you for your kind words about Christine and condolences to the children and I. She was an amazing person and I will forever miss her but she will always be with me. Her service is tomorrow at the Women's Memorial, Arlington Cemetery at 1130. Christine chose this venue for her memorial service and everyone who she touched with her grace are welcome. This is a difficult time, but I get much comfort from your messages. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your Christine stories.

I came to Christine as a stranger, and asked for her welcome and her help. In a blink of an eye, she led me, she welcomed me, she mentored me. She gave me the fame and flowers when she had been the powerhouse behind the scenes. An amazing woman and friend - may we all aspire to her warmth, energy and ability to love. Adieu until we see each other again.

Stuart & Family,
I was so shocked to hear of Christine's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. Since moving to Albuquerque 3 years ago, I was not aware of her illness. I remember getting to know Christine her first year with the government at the Wright Patt Contracting Center --- she fixed a wonderful beef stroganoff lunch for 3 of us! Christine was such an inspiration to everyone - I will cherish her loving spirit, her boundless energy, and her enthusiam for life! What a great loss to you, her children, her co-workers and friends. God Bless.

Stuart,
She does look beautiful. I can't express adequately how sorry Laurelle and I are for your loss. It is a great loss for our DOD contracting community. I had the honor of getting to know Christine a little more over the last couple of years, and the pleasure of working with her on VTC a couple of weeks ago on her MiDAESS Program Peer review. I was thrilled to be a part of that team as I knew it marked success for Christine! She was obviously a fighter until the end and I know you were proud of her. We will miss her greatly.
With Great Sympathy

Dear Stuart, Danielle and Neil: I am writing this from Mexico City, where my husband and I have just arrived to start a three year Foreign Service assignment. Christine was in my first semester ICAF seminar, an unforgetably hilarious, irreverent and smart member of what turned out to be a wonderful group of people. She fought gallantly, with her trademark wit and verve, to the very end. I will not be able to attend her memorial service, but please know that our prayers and thoughts will be with you.

I had not been in contact with Christine for a couple of years when I ran across her again back in February. I was saddened by the information she sent me and I want to share with you the courage she had ... in her own words...
"...Oh boy, this is the fight
of my life.My claim to fame will be that I showed up to work and tried hard to be normal during a very abnormal time. My husband likes to say I am a statistic of one but we are both very pragmatic. The prognosis is not great. Hopefully I have a few more good years. Trust me, the chemo is harder than the cancer. The only good thing about chemo is that I am in a second phase of being able to eat anything and everything again. There is no cheeseburger I am going to leave behind during this period of indulgence. ...A busy job keeps me from feeling sorry for myself..Stuart is being strong and wonderful to me and both of our kids are in DC so quality of life is good."
I believe she was a smart woman and a devoted public servant, she recognized that her family was her rock.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.
