CHRISTOPHER APPLEGATE Obituary

CHRISTOPHER COLIN APPLEGATE November 19, 1986 - April 21, 2017
Beloved Son of Christopher G. and Eugenie M. Applegate; brother of J. Austen, Brian C. and Lisa M. Applegate; grandson of the late Joan and Frank Applegate and Jean and Frank Mallinson. Colin attended Kinhaven Pre School, Taylor Elementary School, Swanson Middle School and graduated Yorktown High School 2005, all in Arlington County, VA. He was a prize-winner at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, May 2005. He also attended Guilford College and Virginia Commonwealth University. Colin worked as an IT Consultant, starting at age 9 as Applegate Consulting, and earned many professional Comptia certifications. He contributed to solving global problems through certain software applications. We remember Colin as loving, giving, kind, gentle, bright and witty. He leaves his immediate family and four aunts; three uncles; five cousins; a nephew; relatives in England and many friends. A Memorial Service is planned for Monday, May 1, 2017 at 12 noon, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4250 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22207. Regarding expressions of sympathy, the family is working toward a high school technology fund in his memory. Further information will be available at http://www.everlycommunityfuneralcare.com. We will love you forever, and miss you profoundly. Lord, give us we pray, your peace in our hearts, at the end of the day.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of dear Colin. I have such wonderful memories of him as a fifth grader. I remember how brilliant he was with the computer and could solve any problem much to my relief! What a happy night when we went to the Computer Night at W and L. He wowed us all. He and his talents will be surely missed. Sending prayers and loving thought to his family.

Life can be filled with tears and pain, especially while experiencing the death of someone so young and as full of life as Chrisopher. I know that he is dearly missed, but there is hope in the future when death will be a thing of the past. Rely on God to comfort your pain and ease the sting that his death has left.
