CHRISTOPHER CAWLEY
Born on February 18, 1950 in Fairfax, Virginia, died November 27, 2013 in Hamilton, Virginia. Mr. Cawley attended Fairfax High School and earned a B.S. From the University of Scranton. He pursued a career in the insurance industry, rising to the level of Senior Vice President of Customer Service and Chief Claims Officer of MetLife Auto and Home, before retiring in 2010. He leaves three sons: C.J. Cawley of Los Angeles CA, Matthew Cawley of Rhode Island and Brett Cawley (Jamie Brunton) of Los Angeles, CA and six brothers and sisters, Edward Cawley (Nancy) of Alexandria, VA, Thomas Cawley (Mariann) and Roseanne Kelly (Lawrence) of Great Falls, VA, Mary Beth DiVincenzo (Tim) of Vienna, VA, Margaret Dewar of McLean, VA and Kevin Cawley of Columbia, MD plus many loving nieces and nephews and cousins, and former wife, Sue Vogel Cawley. He will also be missed by numerous friends from the town of Hamilton, Virginia, a place where he truly felt at home thanks to their loving and unstinting friendship. Chris was an enthusiastic beekeeper and a student of Military History, particularly the Civil War and World War II. He has been serving on the Town of Hamilton Planning Commission since July 2011. Visitation will be held at Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville, VA on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Purcellville, Virginia. Burial will follow in the Lake View Cemetery, Hamilton, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. I worked at MetLife many years ago when Chris was there. Although I was far down the corporate food chain he always treated everyone fairly and was a true gentleman. I am saddened by your loss.
