DANIEL CARLIN BORDEN, JR. (Age 64)
On Thursday, February 5, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved son of the late Daniel Carlin, Sr. and Ellen T. Borden; brother of Eileen (Jim) Borden McComb, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Loretta (Sean) McAteer, of Olney, MD, Stephen A. Borden of Burtonsville, MD, Vincent Borden of Punta Gorda, FL, and Alice R. (Steve) Hagan, of Damascus, MD. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at St. Bernadette's Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD, on Tuesday, February 10, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, DC. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's College High School, 2607 Military Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Danny, I am the only one who was able to call you my little brother. I will always remember those early days of playing under the lilac bush with our cousin Louise, our carefree happy days.you were always there for me even when I moved miles away, I miss our nightly calls but you will forever be in my heart, hugs forever!

For a brother like no other

Dear Borden Family, I was very sad to hear of Dan's passing. I will keep him in my prayers and memories. As a kid, Dan was a true friend. We were Scouts together for many years and I have a lot of great memories and more than a few stories of those times. And of course hangin'out in the alley as neighbors. Peace.

So sorry to hear of Danny passing away, I know he will be greatly missed. As kids, living across the alley from each other, we used to hang out, go to the Avalon, and just be kids together. He was a good friend and buddy and would do anything for you.

Kelly and I had the pleasure of seeing Dan around Thanksgiving of 2013 while he and his siblings were visiting their Aunt Julie Ann (Julia Wall), at our house on Rittenhouse St. He told me he remembered my brother Tony and me as little kids when we lived on 33rd St. back in the sixties. He used to deliver the Evening Star to our house. In fact, we helped him out once or twice; a real treat for us. He always struck me as kind and thoughtful. I received the news of his passing while visiting Julia Wall at the Lisner Home at Friendship Heights, Thursday evening and informed her. Sadly, she passed away of natural causes related to renal failure the following evening at sunset. It gives me a great measure of comfort to know they are both reunited with family in Heaven.
