I was deeply saddened when I heard of the passing of Daniel J. Donoghue. Not only did I know him for a very long time because of his being a very devout parishoner at St. Jerome's Parish in Hyattsville, MD but also because my very first job with the U.S. Government was at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission of which Daniel had a very important job status. Additionally, because of my very close contact with his daughter Sister Eileen, I had a very special admiration of Daniel. He will be sorely missed. My prayers are with his entire family at this time.

Dear Donoghue Family:
We all were blessed growing up with the great families of St. Jeromes and the common bond all us enjoyed. The Donoghues were part of that larger community that molded by life. Please accept my condolences and prayers on the passing of Mr. Donoghue. All my best to Willie, Claire, Rose, Danny, and George.

Dear Mary Pat and family,
I was looking for another obituary and found out about your dad. Many condolences and prayers to you all. It doesn't matter how old you or your dad may be, it is never easy. Hang in there and, again, your family is in my prayers.

Dear Donoghue Family,
Please accept my sincerest sympathy in the loss of your wonderful father and grandfather.
I had the privilege of working with Dan at the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission and at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from 1970 until he retired. He was always kind, empathetic, proud of his family, and a great singer of Irish tunes. I will miss him.
