I realize that I am writing this note a while after his passing however, recently something jogged my memory and Dr. Straus popped into my mind. I can remember first moving to Maryland and having to go to the doctor with my 2 younger brothers. Dr. Straus's office was always busy and usually crowded. These were some of the fondest memories I have from those years. He was such a kind, gentle and of course a wonderful physician that when I married and had children of course they were patients of Dr. Straus. Also, I loved driving up to the house and when I would drive by with anyone else I would always point out the house to everyone and start in with a story or two. May his memory be a blessing to the entire family he was certainly a mensch.

so sorry to hear about Dr. Straus. He was the doctor to my 2 sons for many years and my mother taught at least one of his sons at Brookhaven Elementary. He was a very caring individual and a wonderful doctor. My condolences to his wife and family.

It is with sadness that I read this morning in the Washington Post, that my children's pediatrician that they loved so much had passed away. He took care of all of my children after they were born until I moved away in 1978. They all still remember him so well. He was so amazing with my children and helped me so much with keeping them well. I learned so much from him. He was so good with children. Prayers going out to all of his family and friends. We will miss you. R.I.P. Dr. Donald Straus.
