I often think back on the people in my life who inspired me along the way. This was the case a few days ago when just by chance I found Ms. Ashworth on this site. I like so many others have fond memories of this lady from Va Hills Elementary school. I last saw her just by chance during my last year of High School when she came by with what I think we're fellow school board members passing through our shop lab. Although it had been many years since elementary school, I recognized her immediately. Although we did not have the chance to speak, I think she may have recognized me as well by the way she smiled at me. I always wondered after that what became of her. After reading her obituary here little did I know that we shared the same town of Vienna for some time. I of course had no way of knowing and would have loved to have connected with her. God bless you Ms. Ashworth. You will never know how many people continue to think of you. Signed by Donald Brumback August 2017.

She was a wonderful librarian and a wonderful person. I am sure she made the lives better of everyone she touched. She certainly inspired me to read during those important elementary school years at VA Hills Elementary School.

Ms. Ashworth was a very unique person and touched many lives. I know she sure did touch mine. I often thought about her and what adventure she was doing. She will be missed that is for sure. Rest in peace Ms. Ashworth and Thank-you for helping me get educated. Hugs love and prayers to All The Family.

Miss Edith was a dear friend from Oakton UMC. Always spunky and direct, there was steel in her spine, but also great love an affection in her heart. Anita and I will miss her. We rejoice, though, that she trusted in Jesus as her Savior and we look forward to meeting her again. Thanks be to God!

Had I known where she was, I would have visited her. I so loved this beautiful lady. I was a student at Virginia Hills Elementary School from 1958 through 1963. The most pleasant memories were my visits to the library. Ms. Ashworth read to us with such enthusiam and expression that every child was mesmerized. She is responsible for my lifetime love of reading. She first introduced me to the MISS PIGGLE WIGGLE series and to this day, I scan antique shops searching for original copies. On Valentine's Day, I sent her a Valantine signed FROM YOUR SECRET ADMIRER. She never knew it was me. She was a charming woman of grace and style. I am pleased to know she lived a long life. God bless her family. What a treasure she was. I love you Edith Ashworth.
