EDWARD SCHMAUDER Obituary


EDWARD CHARLES SCHMAUDER  (Age 87)  
Of Springfield, on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene M. Schmauder. Devoted father of Douglas (Beverly) Schmauder of Ellicott City, Maryland; Craig (Lynn) Schmauder of Springfield, Virginia; and Kenneth (April) Schmauder of Franklin, Massachusetts. Loving grandfather of Jason, Kevin, Brian, Kellianne, Kristin, Jacob, Matthew, Jarret, Mary, Maegan, Jill and Jamie. Proud great-grandfather of Logan and Kyle Schmauder.Born in New York City on October 29, 1924, he served in combat with the US Army during WWII participating in the Battle of the Bulge (Ardennes Campaign). He retired from Colgate-Palmolive Company in 1983 and moved to "Lake of the Woods" in Locust Grove, VA. In retirement, he most enjoyed playing golf, painting in acrylics and hand-carving wooden ducks. His artwork is proudly on display in the homes of his family and many friends. In 2009, he relocated to Greenspring Village in Springfield, VA to be closer to his family. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
