Dr. Elliott J. Alpher
Dr. Elliott J. Alpher, of Potomac, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lee; his son Aaron (Sandy) and his daughter Cheryl; his adored grandchildren Kayla, David and Matthew. Elliott was predeceased by his parents, Max and Esther, and his sister, Beryl Kramer.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at 12 p.m. at Congregation Har Shalom, 11510 Falls Road, Potomac, MD 20854, with interment to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, MD. The family will be observing Shiva at the family residence in Potomac, MD on Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.Dr. Alpher was a graduate of The Georgetown University Dental School and dedicated his life to providing lasting relief to patients with sleep disorders and jaw pain. Elliott was a loving and devoted husband and father. He adored his three grandchildren and loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. What a blessing Dr. Alpher was to me during the many years he treated my jaw. He was a wonderful man and marvelous doctorso wise, respectful and kind, and with a gentle positivity and serenity that always made me feel calm and encouraged. May he rest in God's eternal peace.

Dr. Alpher is the reason I wake up every day without pain. He was the person who went on a limb and suggested Ehlers-Danlos as a diagnosis. He was right. I saw Dr. Alpher 3 times a week for 4 months. Dr. Alpher was so gifted. My condolences to his family and friends!

I am so sorry that Dr Alpher has passed...he greatly helped me with my medical condition. I know he touched many lives, and will be greatly missed. He had a great sense of humor, I always thought he should be a stand up comic.

Elliott was a gifted, honest and dedicated clinician and friend. We often spoke of his loving family and devoted dog. His love for Lee had no bounds. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with Elliott, Lee and his family

Elliot Alpher treated my sleep apnea for more than twenty years. He often joked that he was the 'only doctor in the area that I had not fired..' He was right with a few exceptions. He was brilliant, forward thinking, fun and conscientious. My deepest sympathy to his family, Roxane and all his colleagues, and all his other patients. We have contributed in his name to the Scholarship Fund for Undocumented Students at Fairfield University.
