Happy Birthday Eric,
I know the Angels are still rejoicing that you have joined them. I have not forgotten our last precious moments together. I love you and will see your smiling face when my time to join those who have gone before me. Those 68 days were the most precious ones that I will never forget.
I already know that you were and are at peace. We learned so much more about one another in those few short days than all the years that we've known one another.
My love for you will always be there from then to eternity. I know your earth day was yesterday but I spent it in refection.

To The Bowen Family,
I was sadden to hear of Eric's death. To Algie and Frank, remembering you guys at Smithfield High brought back such fond memories. I shared with my mother that I have very pleasant thoughts of you guys as we all were nurtured and groomed in one of America's finest communities. Continue to pray and remember those happy and good times that Eric brought to your family circle. God Bless Your Family.

To Eric's Family:
Words are difficult to express the degree of sadness in learning of Eric's passing. Our only communication was a yearly Christmas card exchange, but this was enough to keep us bonded in friendship throughout these years of living in the DC area. Eric was a wonderfully gifted and talented person who I will surely miss. May God grant you peace, comfort, and his understanding during this sorrowful time.

To Eric's loved ones:
Eric was cool, laid back, gifted and unassuming. We shared similar interests in jazz and art, although he was the really talented one. I attended the opening of one of his art shows...amazing! His favorite art subjects were jazz musicians. We went to the Kennedy Center for one of Billy Taylor's jazz shows. Sometimes he'd go to H.R 57 (jazz center on 14th St. NW DC),and play in jam sessions with other musicians. I know he really enjoyed that. He painted my daughter's (Hakim) apartment in record time at a bargain price! He reminded me the most of Uncle Albert (C. Field). We ALL loved him and will miss him. We have a hard time believing he's gone from our presence, but NEVER from our hearts! We'll miss you, Eric!

Love always,

To my cousins the Bowen family,
I will miss "my boy" EB. We had a lot of fun times. The world has lost a tremendous talent. But the world's loss is heaven's gain. EB is now soaring with the angels. Rest in peace my brother. Your Cuz, Jeff

We've got one life to live.
So let's make it a start.
One Heart,One Love, One Aim.
You have reached a new horizon. Reaching further and higher than before.
You are so inspired.
You asked me to never leave your side and I stayed right by your side.
You are truly magical. You're one of kind.
Even though we had our sticky times. We were able to survive because My love for you is real.
Eric, You are Soul of my Soul, with each beat of my heart.
You are the light of my light and I know that we'll make a new start in heaven.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
