EUGENE DUNN Obituary

EUGENE F. DUNN (Age 89)
On Friday, January 23, 2015, Eugene Dunn, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away. Born and raised in Bryant, SD he was a Sergeant in the US Air Force and served in WWII. Following his military service he became a lifelong resident of the DC area. He is a graduate of GW University and married Patricia Hart in 1952. They raised three children in Falls Church, Madeline, Gregory (wife Aimee), and Paul. Gene was active in Rotary Club and coached Falls Church Little League. Gene was a highly regarded and respected leader in Washington banking. He was a past president of the Appraisal Institute and a leader in the mortgage industry as one of the early executives at Freddie Mac. He also held executive positions at Continental Federal, Perpetual Savings Bank and Columbia First, and was one of the founding directors of Potomac Bank and Trust Company. He was greatly loved by his grandchildren, Kennedy (Spud) Dunn and Kelsey Dunn, who adored him as a wonderful storyteller and golf instructor. Grandpa Gene was a noteworthy fan at their sports activities, never missing a chance to watch their baseball/softball, basketball or lacrosse games with their McLean, Landon or St. Stephens/St. Agnes teams. He will be sorely missed, but is always in our hearts. A private interment will be at a later date.
