GEORGE BERNARD DOLBY (Age 87)  
Of Salisbury and formerly of Bethesda, MD died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Frances Dolby. Mr. Dolby was an architect with a professional degree from Ohio State University, where he was a member of Alpha Rho Chi fraternity. He was a partner in the Washington, DC offices of McGaughan and Johnson and vice president/partner in Faulkner Fryer and Vanderpool which became Cannon Faulkner. He was project architect for restorative projects for the Kennedy Center, Air and Space Museum, Hirshorn Museum and the Library of Congress as well as facilities at the National Zoological Park, Washington Cathedral, the American University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Gallaudet University. Among his residential work was a home for his family in Bethesda and one for his son's family in Snow Hill. He had a consultant practice from 1991 - 1999.  Mr. Dolby was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sara, his younger son, Bret and sisters, Carol Flanagan and Frances Sharkey. He is survived by his son, Scot Dolby and his wife, Jean of Snow Hill; three granddaughters, Elyza, Hannah and Cassidy; a sister, Janette Nelson of Ocala, Florida and a brother, John of San Diego, CA.  Interment will be held at a later date in Chevy Chase, MD. Contributions may be made in George's memory by those who so wish to, Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, 7001 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase, MD 21805.
