Gloria Poulos Obituary
Gloria married James A. Poulos, II in 1949 and raised six children. In 1973, she began her career in research & development with the Federal Government and retired in 1987 from the National Science Foundation.
Her devotion to family was seen by all who knew her. That love carried her children throughout their lives and was the example that she set for all to follow. Her love of life, cherished friends, family and devotion to our Catholic faith are traits that define her beautifully.
Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, James A Poulos, II (2008); by her eldest daughter, Mary Ann Granger-Alderson and her youngest son, Francis T. Poulos (Elena); and by her brother, Peter T. Lerario. Survived by her loving children, James A. Poulos, III (Gail), John T. Poulos, Beth Fangmeyer Poulos (daughter in law), Christine A. Clements (Robert), and Teresa P. Herbert (Michael); by her 19 Grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great grandson on the way; by her sister Victoria Lerario Donoghue and by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services on Wednesday, January 8 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rockville, MD (11 a.m. Rosary, 11:15 a.m. Visitation, 12 p.m. Funeral Mass).

Gloria worked with me at the National Science Foundation. I remember her but have not been in touch with her for years. She was a wonderful person to work with. I retired from NSF and moved from Bethesda to Venice Florida in 1994.
May she rest in peace.
