Dr. Eswaran will be missed by many. I watched him lead others in a variety of situations. He was brilliant, a gentleman, and a friend to many. His contributions were imaginative, unique and important. Deep condolences to family and close friends.

Great Person and Teacher in the field. I have learned from him a lot concerning the sustainable management of soils and will pursue for our mutual cause the 'Anthroscape' which he had named to define the human driven soil eco-systems.

Hari was my mentor in soil sciences. I worked for him in 1998 at USDA /NRCS on desertification issues in Africa. He was fun, full of good humor and jovial.
