Dear Vamvas Family: I am heartbroken at the news of the passing of our dear and much beloved Helen. Although she left Brooklyn years ago, her and Dr. Vamvas' memory and legacy of good deeds continues to this day. I see that she is resting back in Brooklyn and wish that I knew of the funeral so her old friends at the Incurable Illness Foundation, where she served and presided for many years, could have paid our unending respect. Please advise if any memorial services will be held in Brooklyn so that we may attend. There were none finer than this true Lady. My deepest sympathies, Demetrius (Jim) Kalamaras ([email protected])

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. She was a kind and lovely lady and I always remember her warmth and hospitality during my stay in New York. My condolences to the whole family.

Helen was a lovely lovely member of our Book Group and she will be remembered for her gentle smile and voice, her cogent remarks at our meetings, and her kind thoughtfulness. She rests among the angels.

So sorry to hear this. We loved her so much. What a class act! She and my Dad, Mace Broide, were good friends and she used to join our Saturday evening Happy Hours, when she could.
