Henry was a major behind-the-scene contributor to the development in implementation of MUMPS based medical information systems at the VA, IHS, and DoD. He was an intelligent and knowledgeable mentor. I spoke with Henry every week for many years, and spoke with him again last year. His many contributions will never be fully recognized.

RIP. That is sad news, indeed. Henry was probably the most influencial driving force behind the scene for the Mumps development and stadardization. I remember him from many meetings. I will never forget his impressive figure and calm arguing with well formulated thoughts. Normally he did not say much but what he said was always substantial.

I have known Henry since the 1970s He was one of the original people in medical computing. With my wife Dr Ruth Dayhoff he was one of the incorporators of the nonprofit Symposium on Computer applications in Medical Care and a pillar of the Mumps Users Group (MUMPS is a dominant medical computer language) Henry brought humanity , patient orientation and ethics to the computer community, which sorely needed all three. His humor was infectious . I knew him for a year before I realized we were both Gonzaga graduates. He was gracious to a fault and a friend in tribulation
