Dear Butler Family:
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of one of the all time wonderful people in the world. It was my pleasure to have been Jimmy’s teammate on the Cherner Aggie American Legion baseball team. It was during the turbulent 60’s and we were a bunch of white kids from Gonzaga, Georgetown Prep and St. Anthony High Schools and a bunch of black kids from Eastern High School who came together as a family to form one of the best American Legion teams in the country. Jimmy was the glue that bound that team together with his athletic ability, positive attitude, upbeat personality, words of encouragement and that infectious smile.
Jimmy, by your actions and example you taught me and surely the young men you coached that it might be a bad day now, but there are many better days ahead. I will never forget your favorite saying whenever we were losing a game. When a teammate got a base hit, I can still hear you yelling “Hey baby the Aggie bats are coming to life”.
While we have suffered the loss of a good man, those who were influenced by Jimmy as an athlete, friend, coach, husband, father and son, can take comfort in the fact that he is now with the Lord.
Rest in peace my friend, my teammate and my brother,
Jody Camardese

Margaret, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rememebering James maybe hard right now, but later in life it will bring happyness and joy to think i had a great man in my life. I never met James that i remember that I am only 14 years young, but I wish I could remember just from hearing how much concern is put in to this sudden death to my ears. My family and I love and support you and your family all the way.

Margaret, Losing someone you love is never easy to accept, especially a loving husband. May your troubled heart find peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. May God's presence ease your trembling spirit and give you rest. He knows how you feel. He is ever aware of your circumstances and ready to be your strength, your grace, and your peace. He is there to cast sunlight into all of your darkened shadows, to send encouragement through the love of friends and co-workers, and to replace your weariness with new hope. I know the many feelings of losing someone you love. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. If you need me, you know that I am here.
