JAMES AGRIPPA MORRILL

James Agrippa Morrill, a dedicated family man and longtime leader in government relations, died April 22, 2023 at his home in McLean, VA. He was 76.



Jim's career spanned four decades in government relations working for Scott Paper Company and then Lincoln Financial Corporation. He was recognized as a leader in his professional community, serving as President of Carlton Club of the District of Columbia; Chair of the Bryce Harlow Foundation; and board member of the Business Government Relations Council. Upon retirement, he volunteered to give tours of the U.S. Capitol, reflecting his passion for his work.



Jim was completely dedicated to his family. He was a coach and Scout leader and always a supportive presence at his children and grandchildren's events. He was a shining example to his family of kindness, empathy and generosity of spirit – this will be his legacy.



He was born in Newburyport, MA, on December 7, 1946, and maintained a love for his hometown. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Tulane University and a master's of science in administration from George Washington University.



Jim is survived by Penny his wife of 53 years; their children, Jackson of McLean; and Julia and her husband Jesse of Brooklyn, NY; a brother; and six grandchildren.



A memorial service will be held at Saint John's Episcopal Church in McLean, VA on Saturday, June 3, 2023. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the United States Capitol Historical Society, https://capitolhistory.org/morrill/.
