JOAN SHEEHAN VORRASI
It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Joan Sheehan Vorrasi announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 3, 2021 due to complications from cancer. Joan resided in Rockville, MD. Beloved wife of the late James Vorrasi. Devoted mother of Michael (Anne) and Kelly (Lacey). Adored grandmother of Rory Vorrasi-Banis, Indigo Vorrasi and Willem Vorrasi. Loving sister of James Sheehan. Sister in law of Joan C. Sheehan. Loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Helen Sheehan, her brother James Sheehan and sister-in-law Joan C. Sheehan. Joan was born and raised in Washington, DC, and attended Academy of Notre Dame High School. She spent more than 50 years in service at the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University of America where she served as the Director of Student Life and Special Events. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, coworkers and the thousands of students whose lives were impacted by her work. Services were held at Catholic University of America on November 13, 2021. Private burial took place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD for family only.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Joan was one of the first people I met when I started at CUALaw. From the beginning she was friendly, helpful with a pleasant disposition for everyone she met. She was a wonderful sight Dr a class full of anxious, scared and confused first year law students. Over my years at the law school I was happy to see her and talk with her. No more so than I my last year. I loss my parents with six weeks in the winter of 1974. After returning to school I found Joan always willing to talk or to justcsit with me as I sought to process my grief and feelings. She was really a iifesaver for me. After graduation I tried to return to the law school as often as possible, in part to see her, to talk and to catch up on our families. I do not have the words to express what she meant to me but please know that I share your loss and will remember her always.
