JOEL HUGILL Obituary
JOEL HUGILL (Age 56)
Passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Anne Hugill; parents, Jim and Theda McCulloch; brothers, Jeff and Jody Hugill and Ritchie McCulloch; beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and his many treasured friends and colleagues. Joel spent close to 30 years working as an Electrician/Telecommunications Technician for Power Link Corporation and belonged to IBEW Local 26. He was known for his sense of humor, quiet disposition and love for being outdoors hunting, fishing, shooting archery (he was a Virginia State Champion!), or playing anything anyone would play with him (bowling, chess, disc golf, frisbee, golf, horse shoes, poker, softball, volleyball and more!). He was an avid sports fan of the Washington Capitals, Nationals and Redskins. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2016, 2 p.m., St. Matthew''s United Methodist Church, 8617 Little River Turnpike Annandale, VA 22003. I just learned of Joel's passing. I spent my high school years will him and we were like brothers. Talked about girls, cars or rock bands. Over the years we lost track of each other but I thought about him often. God's speed my friend.

Hadn't spoken to Joel for twenty years, it's a shame as we were such great friends long ago. Some of the best times of my life were spent with Joel, softball was an absolute blast, back in the day. RIP Old friend, I'm sure you are taking a bead on a big ol' buck as I write this.

I was saddened to learn just today (15 August) of Joel's passing on the 29th.
Joel was very active in league bowling having participated in the league I run on Thursday nights in Chantilly. He always had a positive demeanor and enjoyed the people with whom he bowled as well as the pleasure of other league members.
He will be missed by everyone in the league.
