JOHN BODNER, JR.
Friday September 2, 2011, John Bodner, Jr. of Washington, DC, passed away, of complications related to Parkinson's disease. Survived by his beloved wife of 42 devoted years, Anne Potter Bodner; children John Edward of Washington, DC, Brit-Marie Powers (Joseph) of Bethesda, MD, Anne Kristin Martin (Stephane) of Divonne Les Bains, France, Peter Andrew of Washington, DC; grandchildren Madeline, Andrew and Jack Powers, and Etienne Martin; and brothers Edward and Kenneth. Born on May 4, 1927 in Morristown, NJ, a graduate of Cornell University, Northwestern University Law, and masters of law from Johns Hopkins University. His legal career began as a member of the Justice Department's anti-trust division; he then became one of the 1st partners of Howrey, LLP. He was an acclaimed anti trust lawyer who taught law at University of Chicago Law School, George Washington University Law School, and University of Virginia. A Catholic memorial service will be planned later in Washington DC and Divonne Les Bains, France. In lieu of flowers the family requests contribution be made in his name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814; 301/657-8444.
