Ruby Elizabeth Bodner

Ruby Elizabeth Sims Bodner, 92, of Danville passed away on February 5, 2026. Born July 9, 1933, in Danville to the late Jesse and Neice Sims. Ruby was a lifelong resident of Danville. She is preceded in death by her husband Buddy Bodner, daughter Diana Singleton, brother Bennie Sims, sister Berneice Merrick, sister Joann Tebbs, brother David Sims, and sister Jessie May.

In their early years, Ruby and Buddy enjoyed square dancing around Kentucky. Ruby and her family cherished time spent boating, water skiing and camping at Lake Cumberland. Ruby loved to bake and enjoyed bowling in a lady's league. She also loved working in the Centre College Post Office. Ruby will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love for her family, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Ruby was the mother of Debbie (Mike) DeRousse; the late Diana (Mike) Singleton; Donna (Stoney) Kissick; Michael (Karen) Bodner; and Ann (Stewart) King. Ruby was blessed with eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Marcia, Kelly, Craig, Sheri, Katie, Jessica and Taylor. Ruby also loved her twelve great-grandchildren: Dillon, Sierra, Clayton, Michael, Gracie, Seth, Emery, Molly, Chapman, William, Jack and Easton; and one great-great-grandchild Kane Colyer.

Visitation is 12:00pm-2:00pm, Saturday, February 14, 2026, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00PM with Bro. Barry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Larson, Nick Caton, Jeremiah Satterly, Clayton Davis, Gage Camic, Michael Larson, Seth Caton and Chapman Satterly. Honorary pallbearers are Dillon Colyer, Clayton Colyer, Sierra Colyer, Gracie Caton, Emery Larson, Molly Allen, Will Davis, Jack Satterly, Easton Camic, and Kane Colyer.
