On Tuesday, April 5, 2005, JOHN FRANCIS LALLY. Beloved husband of LaVelle Patton Lally; loving father of John J., Bethesda, MD, Bryan, Portland, OR, Patricia, Lewisburg, WV, Rosemarie, Washington, DC and stepson, Steven, McNaughton, Middleburg, VA; devoted grandfather of Sean, Elizabeth, Ian, Brendan, Molly, David, Caitlin, Michelle and Bryan. He is also survived by his sisters, Marguerite Donahue and Mary Burns. Predeceased by his first wife, Bette Bridge Lally. Born in Scranton, PA, June 15, 1924, John was a WWII Army veteran and graduate of the University of Scranton and Catholic University School of Law. He served in the Justice Department as prosecutor in the Organized Crime Section and as Assistant U.S. Attorny in Los Angeles. John later served as Counsel to the United States House Armed Services Subcommittee on Investigations. Relatives and friends may call at EVERLY COMMUNITY FUNERAL CARE, 6161 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA on Sunday, April 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. Anthony's Church, Falls Church, VA, Monday, April 11 at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to So Others Might Eat, 2812 Pennsylvania Ave., S.E., Washington, DC 20020.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with John for about 10 years on the HASC. He was hard working, knowledge and fun loving. He will be missed and is in my prayers.
