JON ASH Obituary
JON F. ASH
Of Hilton Head Island, SC, died on June 4, 2015. Mr. Ash was 75 years old and the son of Dr. Herman Ash and Dr. Charlotte Ash of Saugerties, NY. Mr. Ash founded Global Aviation Associates, a Washington D.C.-based commercial aviation consulting firm in 1986. He was previously with TWA for 20 years. Mr. Ash was a member of Burning Tree and Columbia Country Clubs in Bethesda and Sea Pines Country Club on Hilton Head Island. Mr. Ash is survived by his wife, Barbara, their son, David; daughter-in-law, Allison; and grandson John. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 12, 2015 in Hilton Head at the Providence Presbyterian Church followed by a reception at the Sea Pines Country Club.

Dear Barbara and family,
I was so very sad to hear of Jon's death. My heart goes out to you. I worked with Jon for many years on multiple aviation economic-related projects, and he was a superb colleague. So smart, knowledgeable, insightful, always so well prepared and on top of his game - and always with his marvelous sense of humor at the ready. It was a joy and a privilege to have the opportunity to work with him and to learn from him. He made a tremendous contribution to his field. Thank you so much for sharing him with us. I hope that the burden of your loss will be lightened at least a little by the knowledge that he was so well loved and so greatly appreciated.

Jon built a great aviation consulting firm. Not only did he provide tremendous insight to his clients, he was also an innovator in upping the ante for analytical analysis. He was a great colleague and lives on in the abilities and professionalism of those he trained and advised. A great man, a gentleman and a great friend.

Jon was my first Boss when I joined his consulting firm in 2008. I learned a lot from him in the time before his retirement. He was a great man and he will be missed. My condolences to the family

Deepest sympathy to Barbara and David. Jon was a wonderful friend and colleague. I worked closely with him on aviation matters through the years. I learned a lot from him and it was always fun working with him. We also shared the experience of being Landon fathers as David and our late son Evan were classmates. I missed seeing Jon in recent years as he retired and moved away but thought of him often.
