Joseph Tedesco Obituary



TEDESCO JOSEPH W. TEDESCO "Ted" Joseph W. Tedesco "Ted", 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family Friday, January 23, 2009 at his home in Woodford, VA. Ted was born in New Jersey on October 10, 1925. He graduated from St. Michaels High School in Union City NJ. Ted had a passion for serving his country enlisting in the Navy for World War II, and the Army for the Korean War. During Ted's life he received a bachelor's degree at John Marshall College in Jersey City NJ and La Salle Extension University in Chicago IL. He retired from the Department of Defense in 1985. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Lou Tedesco, spending a majority of their marriage in the Sleepy Hollow area of Fairfax VA. His two daughters Marybeth Price and her husband Melvin, Alisa Tedesco and her friend Bruce. Three Grandchildren; Craig Price, Joey Price and Alisa Price. One Brother Patrick Tedesco and wife Cecil; Special first cousin Randolph Riotto, wife Ollie and family. Special first cousin Maryann Dorfman, husband Sid and family. Special first cousin Connie Altobelli and Special first Cousin Joe Carpenter and family. Sister in law Yvonne Smallwood. Brother in law Albert Farris and wife Peggy. Brother in law Paul Farris and wife. Brother in law Johnny Jackson. Ted is also survived by 12 nephews and nine nieces. He is preceded in death by his beloved Nana, Mary Hoebel. His mother Catherine Egle. His father Joseph A. and his wife Rose Tedesco. His father and mother in-law, Russell and Lydia Farris. Sister in-law Ida Jackson and three brother in-laws Ralph Farris, Otis Farris and Bill Smallwood. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, January 29 at Mullins & Thompson's Fredericksburg Chapel. The service for Ted will be held Friday January 30, at 11 a.m. at Mullins and Thompson's Fredericksburg Chapel with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring Maryland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2217 Princess Anne Street, suite 106-1F, Fredericksburg VA 22401.
