KAREEM RASHAD SULTAN KHAN
Rashad Sultan Khan, CPL, US Army, age 20, died on Monday, August 6, 2007, in Baqubah, Iraq. Born in Neptune, NJ, on February 12, 1987 to Elsheba Elvena Khan of Columbia, MD and Feroze Khan of Manahawkin, NJ. He is also mourned by his grandparents and countless other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at THIBADEAU MORTUARY SERVICE, P.A., 933 Gist Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20910. Falatu Janaza (Islamic Burial Rites) will be offered with Military Honors at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 16 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. (Please arrive at 9:30 a.m.) Memories and Directions online:

We will be displaying a flag with his picture at our Field of Flags events over the Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday in Staten Island next to the Homeport Pier and on Monday at John Paul Jones Park in Brooklyn, next to Fort Hamilton. We will not forget.

She smiled when she saw you there, and she kissed you goodbye, as she always does. She misses you every moment of every day, and loves you more and more as each day passes.

My name is Meriem, and I am originally from Morocco. This morning, before El- Fajr prayer, I stumbled upon a video on YouTube where collin Powell mentioned the name of an American Muslim Hero by the name of Kareem Rachad Sultan Khan. I googled your name, and within seconds of reading your story, tears were rolling down my cheeks. Your sense of courage, belief in your faith, honor, and desire to serve your country with pride and dignity, inspired me to the point of getting up and praying Salat al Fajr for you.. (Believe me when I say this; the last time I prayed was in Ramadan).. I know that many of us will never have the courage to give up our lives to protect our faith and our country in hopes of a better
tomorrow. You did more than that, and are a true hero!

do you remember us? we met at the graves of our sons at arlington cemetery on a beautiful indian summer day. We were coming from germany, sharing our memories, emotions our sorrow and pride over
our beloved sons. laurent and kareem, both coming from completly different environments,but both believing and fighting for the same cause, the freedom of the iraqi people. they both gave their lives for the country they loved so much. our sons probably never met. now, at arlington cemetery, their graves are only a few yards apart. that is where we met, two mothers mourn over our beloved sons, together with justine and matthew. to be able to talk with you ment a lot to us, we will not forget our emotions. we wish kareem and laurent with all of our heart to rest in peace - and maybe we will meet again at arlington cemetery on a beautiful indian summer day. our deepest respect for our muslim brother, kareem, to his mother sheba and his relatives,
