I just want to send my thoughts and prayers to Ken's family and friends.
Growing up, listening to Sports Call was a nightly ritual that never got old.
The depth/breadth of Ken's knowledge was unparalleled, he always treated his callers with "dignity and respect" AND his "Bah-Ston" accent was fantastic !!
While it may sound a bit cliche, it is also very true to say that Ken's radio show will never be duplicated as his style and knowledge were inimitable.
God Bless you , Ken, and thanks for the many years of entertainment. Thanks, as well, for encouraging me to stay in college as that was great advice.
Lastly ... I will think of you every time I get the "Beef and Chedda " at Arby's !!
"Bye now, "

Being a sports fanatic,in the early 80's I would watch Glenn Brenner on TV9 at 6:30 and turn on the radio a 7 to listen to Ken.What a 1-2 punch they were.Glenn with his comedy antics and Ken with his knowledge.I used to call Ken all the time and propose Redskins trades. He would always say 'who's going, Scott'LOL.He never approved of my trades. He said they were one-sided in the Redskins favor ( imagine that) LOL. He was right.I heard on the radio that the Broncos had acquiried John Elway from the Colts. I called Ken and told him. He said he had not heard a word. All of a sudden he said, wait a minute it is coming over the wire, right now.It looked like I broke the news of the trade( LOL)Timing is everything.(LOL)Ken always called you back if his show ran out, which was very classy. He loved his viewers.Three times in the last couple of years I have called local radio sports stations and they just leave you on hold, when the show was over.I remember saying one time when it happened, please bring back Ken. When the NFL Draft would come around ,I loved the informtion Ken would give you, about each player. I also looked forward to the grades he would give the Skins , and all the teams.. Ken Beatrice was a sports fanatic's dream. There will never be another one, like him. Thank You, Mr. Beatrice for all the great countless hours of entertainment you gave us.Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.Rest in Peace, Sir.

Rest in Peace Ken! I'm glad I was able to talk to you once, on the air. I recorded the conversation and will keep it forever!
