PEARSON, KENZEL, JR. (Scooter)

On Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Washington Hospital Center, beloved father of Kenzel III, Keneisha and Kenard. Also leaves to mourn his parents, Kenzel Sr. and Adrene Pearson; maternal grandparents, Katie and Robert Winston Sr.; wife, Angel Pearson; three brothers, Kevin, Tony and Renard; best friends, Monica Scott and his Metro family. On Thursday, May 6, at The New Dawn Baptist Church, 5909 Riggs Rd., Hyattsville, MD, the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of funeral at 11 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Services entrusted to B.K. HENRY.

Scooter and I were stationed together (Fort Hood Texas). Our Birthday's are the same day. We were part of the famous DC crew in Texas and shared alot of great times together. I first learned of his passing on March 25, 2011. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and regret more that so much passed between us. We spent almost everyday together for 3 years in Texas and he was always fun to be around. If you saw him laugh, you will never forget it. He laughed with everything he had. God Bless you Scooter and May God continue to watch over your Family

I knew scooter for a brief time. He was such a good friend and loved dearly by my cousins. Scooter was one of the people to help me get acclimated to the DC area. He is truly missed. I know his spirit is with us all.

Hey Scooter! I pray that you are watching over KP and Lil Kevin...it's so ironic that they hang together as you and KK did. I don't believe they are as wild as you and KK were...LOL! When I look at KP it is so crazy how he looks and acts just like you...I tell him all the time, how he is just like you. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

wow how time passes you by. i didnt realize that it had been 4 years just seems like yesterday. boy did we have some crazy times. ha ha . you had me doing some crazy stuff you and monica. everytime i think about it i just have to laugh. monica would always have me right there going somewhere to find scooter. lol you and my girl monica yall were something else. i think about you all the time i know you are in a better place. you will always be missed.

Wow, time surely goes fast, it's been two years and it seems like yesterday when we got the news about you . Still today I can remember those 4th of July's fireworks that you had for the kids (Kenzel, Keneisha,Kenard, baby Dill,& Keyonna and all of the other kids up on the Hill.) I can still hear you say "Whatz up jungin" I can still here that crazy laugh that you had I can still remember alot of things that you use to do. Scooter, there is so much to say and I'm saddened that you're not around to hear me say them. Our love, unity and bond is forever. Our firsts together, our fears together, you teaching me and me mentoring you. Our good times there were many and our bad but we were always there for each other. First of all I want to extend my condolences to Scooter's parents, children, family and friends. Scooter is someone I have known for about 9 years. I have a lot of memories of him. It's hard right now, but he is in a better place than we can ever imagine. Scooter was a wonderful father. He will be greatly missed for his smile, laughter and his stories. I will never forget some of the times we shared together.
