Scooter and I were stationed together (Fort Hood Texas). Our Birthday's are the same day. We were part of the famous DC crew in Texas and shared alot of great times together. I first learned of his passing on March 25, 2011. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and regret more that so much passed between us. We spent almost everyday together for 3 years in Texas and he was always fun to be around. If you saw him laugh, you will never forget it. He laughed with everything he had. God Bless you Scooter and May God continue to watch over your Family

I knew scooter for a brief time. He was such a good friend and loved dearly by my cousins. Scooter was one of the people to help me get acclimated to the DC area. He is truly missed. I know his spirit is with us all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I came to visit you yesterday, I must say a year sure does go by fast. I will say that your death sure does give off a lot more meaning now then what it has done in the past , It's always good to know that you have an angel riding on your side and after all of the life challenges that I've had over the last couple of months I can truly say with a believing heart that I do believe in angels, cause I know that you are ours! I truly thank you for the gift of life that you have given ... So continue to rest in peace and continue to watch over us , and always know that you are truly missed........

My prayers go out to the Pearsons, Monica and the kids. Me and Scoot been friends for 10 years, and he has been a very good friend to me. I want to say to Monica, that you and the kids were so blessed to have Scooter in your life, because not so many men would go the extra mile to do the things that he has done. Scoot was a very good man and friend, but most important a very good father to his kids. I want to end by saying stay strong and he will always be there no matter what. He may not be here physically, but spiritually and mentally he's right there.

Let me start by saying, God puts people in your life for a "Reason, Season or Lifetime". Scooter was a big brother to me. From guiding me through my junior high school growing pains w/Kevin to just being a loving individual. His smile and laugh will always remain embedded in my mind. Scooter - I'm forever grateful that you were a part of my life for as long as you were. I truly believe the reason God put you in my life was to make me a better person. The joy you brought to everyone will live on for a lifetime. My condolences go out to the entire family and may God keep and continue to bless you. I love you Scoot - Your lil sis Ivy

Scooter,
It's been many years since I've seen you, and the last time I saw your children, (as their great Aunt Alice) some 10 years ago, they reminded me of you. Know that the Great Spirit walked with you here and walks with you where you now travel, guiding you on your path, in another space and time. Walk on, Little Brother, doing the right thing...Love, Aunt Alice

Scooter,
When I ran into you (not too long ago) for the first time in many years, I thought it was just a coincidence. Not realizing that it was our chance to say our final goodbyes. It was a pleasure to see that big smile and hear that crazy laugh. We reminisced on the wild and crazy times we had on Allison St. (w/Kevin, Renard, Bernard, Faye and don't forget Monica). I was happy to hear that you and Monica are such great friends and I was also happy to hear that you were working for Metro and doing so well. My condolences and prayers go out to your family and loved ones, especially your children. It may be hard for them to understand right now, but we know that God doesn't make mistakes and has a plan for all of us. Your family and friends will see you again and I look forward to seeing you again too.
Your friend,

Scooter-
When I ran into a year ago, you greeted me as if had been in touch for years. You had a sincerity and genuineness that I haven't seen displayed in many of our school mates that I have run into. I am happy and I feel blessed that I got to give you a hug and have a laugh with you. I know you are still smiling and laughing! You're family is in my prayers.

Scooter I don't know where to start,or what to say, I do know one thing for sure and that is I will truely miss the good times we have shared since 8th grade. I am 35 now and to have known you as long as I have is truely blessing. You, me and Kevin, Tony Wade, Tommy, Stephine, Treasie, we were the Greenich Woods crew back then. I stayed at your house like I lived there. I could go on and on but the bottom line is I was blessed to have had the chance to be your sister and walk this far in life with you. I will alway cherish our memories together and remember the last time I saw you was at Fred's Cabaret you were smiling and we had a ball. I send my deepest condolences to Mr. Pearson and the family. MAY GOD BE WITH ALL OF YOU. I Love you Scoop your sister BO!!!!

Scooter, there is so much to say and I'm saddened that you're not around to hear me say them. Our love, unity and bond is forever. Our firsts together, our fears together, you teaching me and me mentoring you. Our good times there were many and our bad but we were always there for each other. When peole ask me about you a smile shines up on my face and nothing ever short of saying he's a great person, good heart, kind disposition, make the best out of what he has, intelligent, capable of doing anything imagineable and kraaaazzyyyy :). One thing you taught me well is fear nothing, take on anything that comes before me. All of those things are why I love U. We've been together since we were kids, and became a part of the family after Moms passing.
To all the family my deepest condolences and I pray for your comfort and strength during these difficult times.
Kevin, I'm here 4 U. Big sis loves you just as much and I'm going to hold on to you even tighter.
Scoot, you are no doubt my ace-in-the-hole, my apple-scrapple, my pea in the pod you will forever live in me.
