KIMBERLY HOFFMAN Obituary

HOFFMAN KIMBERLY C. HOFFMAN (née Labrum) Kimberly C. Hoffman (Labrum), 41, passed away March 15, 2021. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 5, 1979, Kim was the beloved daughter of Thomas Nagel Labrum and Kathrine Campbell Labrum of Taylorsville, Utah. She lived in McLean, Virginia. Kim was known for her talent of bringing beauty and light into the lives she touched. She had a keen sense of style and fashion as well as a gift for conversation and hospitality. Kim loved wearing fashion-forward clothes, sparkly jewelry, and zippered jackets. She was an exceptionally talented hair designer, entrepreneur, and make-up artist whose life's passion was making others look amazing. As a young girl, Kim enjoyed being outdoors playing sports, and laughing with friends and siblings especially on warm sunny days. Energetic and deeply empathic, Kim was as competitive as she was compassionate. Kim graduated from Taylorsville High School and earned a degree in cosmetology from the International Institute of Hair Design in 1997. At 19 she founded her own beauty salon aptly named Salon Diva, which she sold for profit seven years later. She created many memories and beautiful hair designs while owning the fun and spunky salon. Her appointment books were always jam-packed with requests from her dedicated clientele whom she valued as friends. After a long day, her young, carefree spirit would drive away in her top-down purple convertible, golden brown hair glistening in the sunlight. Kim moved to Washington DC in 2006 to be near her sister Karen and become a business consultant for salons across the country. After gaining certification as a cosmetic Make-up Artist, she worked on a few movie sets doing hair and make-up in New York. Kim then pursued an opportunity to work as a disguise technician at the CIA. It was there that in the most unexpected but destined chance encounter, she met the love of her life, Daniel. They married on 16 May 2009 and had two sons Jerron and Nathan. Being a wife and mother was to Kim the most valued and sacred part of her life. She had endless love for her "three boys" and nurtured them with kindness, caring, and empathy. Even when battling cancer, she poured every bit of her heart, love, courage, strength, kindness, and generosity into raising her sons. Kim had a boundless curiosity for new adventures, including traveling the world with her love, Daniel. Her favorite times in life were traveling on vacation, staying in spa hotels on the beach, and going out to fancy dinners especially the OSS and White House Correspondents dinners, when she dressed to the nines. Full of love, generosity, optimism, and light, Kim had a place in her heart for her friends and family and nourished those relationships with the greatest care and attention. Kim sustained her four-year battle with neuroendocrine cancer with an extraordinary grace, determination and strength. She never gave up and always maintained her joy for life, her love for her boys, family, and friends even when undergoing the most painful and arduous treatments. Cancer never took away her beauty, her soul, or her mind. Kim's beautiful and kind spirit will always be a blessing in our memory. Her star will never stop shining upon those whom she loved. Among her last wishes, Kim wanted all to know, "I will see you on the other side of the rainbow." As Paul wrote in Corinthians 13:4-8, "love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." Kimberly is survived by her husband, Daniel Nathan Hoffman and their precious sons, Jerron Louis Hoffman and Nathan Thomas Hoffman; her sister-in-law Elizabeth Hoffman and husband Eric Emerson and their children Olivia and Aidan; her mothers-in-law Frances Malino and Phyllis Hoffman; Thomas N Labrum (father); Kathrine Colleen Campbell Labrum (mother); siblings Kendall (Ami) Labrum, Kevin (Adrianne) Labrum, Karen (Paul) Peacock, Kari (Jared) Dazley, Thomas J. (Carolee) Labrum, Tyson (Lissa) Labrum; and many devoted cousins, aunts and uncles. Private funeral service will be held on March 22, 2021. Memorial contributions can be made to the Adler Capital Care hospice center. Kim was a kind and gentle soul. Her warrior spirit was always admirable. She never complained, but rather used all her strength to pioneer her fight. Always loving and kind in spirit and always spread joy and laughter. I will miss her beyond measure.

Rest in peace my beautiful friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dan, Jerron, and Nathan, and their extended family, as we pray for Kim’s soul and ask God to grant solace to Kim’s loved ones during this time of sorrow and grief. Kim fought her cancer with courage and spirit, and love for her family. We never met Kim, but after watching her cook with Dan and the boys on Fox and Friends in 2018, she welcomed all to share in simple joys with her family. RIP, Kim.
